The Center for Democracy and Human Rights

Human Rights and Democracy

  • Human rights serve as the bedrock of modern democratic societies, embodying the inherent dignity and worth of every individual. They transcend geographical, religious, and ethnic boundaries, forming the cornerstone of a just and equitable world.

At the Sudan Contemporary Center for Studies and Development (SUCCESTUD), we are dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of human rights principles. Through our educational programs, we aim to empower individuals of all ages with the knowledge and tools to advocate for their rights and those of others.

Fostering Universal Rights

Human rights are universal, belonging to every human being by virtue of their humanity. In 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a milestone document endorsed by all 193 member states. At SCCESTUD, we actively teach and promote the principles enshrined in this declaration, as well as other international covenants such as the Convention on the Rights of Women and Children and the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court.

Building the Federal School

As part of our commitment to civic education, SUCCESTUD is spearheading the establishment of the Federal School in a neighboring country to Sudan. This innovative educational institution aims to empower local communities with an understanding of the federal system, fostering grassroots democracy and governance.

The Federal School curriculum covers various levels of governance, from village and neighborhood councils to regional and federal bodies. Through structured education classes, community members learn essential skills for effective council management, ensuring a smooth transition and sustainable governance practices.

Join us as we work to build a future where human rights are upheld, and every individual has the knowledge and capacity to participate fully in their communities and societies. Together, we can create a world where justice, equality, and dignity prevail.
