Throughout the first week of January and February 2007, meetings of the members of the Contemporary Sudan Center continued.
First Agenda:
- Place: Cairo, Egypt

First: Agendas of the recurring meetings: A. Evaluating the performance and work of the Contemporary Sudan Center in the second season of enlightenment in Sudan and Libya. Report presented by the center’s president, Monaem Suleiman Atroun. B. Formulating general ideas and clarifying the role the center should play during the democratic change movement in Sudan. The main points included:
- Forming an internal fieldwork team.
- Monitoring the Enlightenment Project and external dialogue on transformation issues.
- Following up on the Darfur case at the International Criminal Court.
- Monitoring human rights violations against Sudanese inside and outside Sudan, focusing on Libya, Israel, Egypt, South Sudan, Central Africa, and Chad.
C. Creating a new vision for the third season of enlightenment, including a detailed plan covering:
- Forming the Enlightenment Team to lead the third season.
- Coordinating and working with African enlightenment groups within Sudan and the rest of Africa.
- Facilitating interactions among members across borders and accepting new members.
D. It was agreed to keep the administrative and advisory council structures as they are until the first conference.
Second: Major programs agreed upon and implemented during the third Enlightenment Season:
- Internal building by rehabilitating the cadre within the center and ensuring discipline in plan execution. Responsibility of the construction officer.
- Implementing the Revolutionary Enlightenment School Project, which aims to train democratic leadership cadres for movement offices in Cairo. Responsibility of the fieldwork team leader.
- Holding a women’s workshop and building a women’s organization to raise awareness of women’s rights and establish a school for women’s rights within human rights. Responsibility of the fieldwork teams.
- Proposal to build a Sudanese student movement and organize an African student organization inside and outside Sudan. Responsibility of the Communication Office leader.
- Establishing a permanent dialogue forum on Sudan issues. Responsibility of the Enlightenment Activity Office leader.
- Establishing and coordinating the management of ten women’s education schools in cooperation with women’s organizations in the Qadamat Movement.
- A new reading of the issues of the Zanj peoples in South Sudan, the Nuba Mountains, the Fung Mountains, the Kanabi, East Sudan, and supporting the people of South Sudan to achieve self-determination.

Third: The Emergency Program in the Season
- Vision of the Contemporary Sudan Center for establishing Radio Dabanga.
- Vision of the Contemporary Sudan Center for dialogue in the Columbia University Initiative held at the American University in Cairo.
Fourth: Executive and Administrative Body It was agreed to keep the structure of the administrative and advisory councils of the Contemporary Sudan Center as they are until the first conference of all center members in the previous seasons.
